Vegas Baby!

We managed to sneak a weeks holiday in at the end of the year...where else could we go other than Vegas!
Absolutely amazing place...truly blown away. We were lucky enough to be staying at the Bellagio.

Asia...

Spent some time in Asia on a recent trip. Went to Singapore, then Malaysia, Indonesia and on to Beijing.

I also took a Bike tour with Bike Beijing. That was really excellent! www.bikebeijing.com

Also, some rather interesting delicacies...

Somerset House

We took advantage of an AMEX offer to see an open air screening of The Big Blue. We went with some friends and none of us had seen it before. Great film but even better location! Simply a great way to see a movie...as long as it doesn't rain!

Cologne/köln/bonn

Spent the day in Cologne interviewing a candidate for an Ethernet position. Somewhere I've not been to before. Haven't actually got out of the airport but that isn't too bad. iPad on, movie playing, couple of hours to kill. So be it...

Lichfield Cars in the Park

These events seem to be gettting more popular nowadays - this time it was the turn of Lichfield to host such an event. Some of the cars were fantastic, and I have to say we fell in love with the Morgan Aero...just need to do some saving perhaps...

Vienna again

Always seem to be going here just lately. Flying to Vienna then on to Linz, coming back tomorrow. Flying with Austrian Airlines. Gotta love the red outfits!

Vinopolis

For a wedding present, the guys at work bought SJ and I a voucher for a meal, tour, wine, beer, rum, whisky, Bombay Sapphire cocktail and absinthe tasting at Vinopolis in London. We'd been here before but not had the full experience...

It started off with a very nice email, plus a glass of the house red....then the main event...tasting of 6 wines each, two beers, two whiskies, a Bombay Sapphire cocktail, an absinthe and a whisky! Well, we didn't actually make it to the beers, but we did try all of the others. The wines were superb - it was split into European, American and New World sections. All were good, although the New World edged it for me...

I'd never had absinthe before and this was strong stuff...there are two ways you can take it apparently, French or Czech - I preferred the Czech way!

Gilgamesh

Got back from India and then went straight out for...an Indian! Well, to be fair, we thought it was an Indian but it actually turned out to be Thai! We went to Gilgamesh, a well-recommended restaurant in Camden. We had the best table in the house - a circular one, up on a plinth...fantastic! We had some friends over from Phoenix and also met up with J & P. interestingly enough, the "Fonz" was in there as well!

40,000 feet above Poland

Well, finally back en route to home - do I really want to keep doing this? Night upon night in hotel rooms in countries I wouldn't choose to visit if I was paid to. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy travelling, just not for work and without those I love. I think it's probably time for me to rethink what I'm doing - perhaps something with
less travel, more pay? We'll see...

Anyway, I'm in the World Traveller Plus cabin and the flight is pretty good. Two movies down, two meals down and an hour or so from landing.

All good...
